Baxter State Park covers more then 200,000 acres of mountains, lakes, streams and forests and has over 200 miles of hiking trails in some of the wildest and most spectacular terrain in New England. The park provides a variety of hiking trails from an easy hike to big to a strenuous all-day climb to Baxter Peak on Mt. Katahdin which is the Northern end of the Appalachan Trail.

Mattanawcook Pond, Folsom Pond, Stump Pond, Long Pond & Little Narrows as does the Penobscot River all have public boat landings as well, and are all conveniently located nearby in Lincoln.

It is a small, family owned & operated ski area with a 432′ vertical drop, 11 trails, a half pipe, beginners slope with 600′ handle tow, & two 2000′ T-Bars. Ski lessons & rentals are available on-site. Mt. Jefferson prides itself on its cozy snack bar with homemade treats for the whole family. They also offer Music concerts & festivals during the Summer.
