Baxter State Park

Only a hour away is a wilderness region that will take your breath away!

Baxter State Park covers more then 200,000 acres of mountains, lakes, streams and forests and has over 200 miles of hiking trails in some of the wildest and most spectacular terrain in New England. The park provides a variety of hiking trails from an easy hike to big to a strenuous all-day climb to Baxter Peak on Mt. Katahdin which is the Northern end of the Appalachan Trail.

Lincoln the home of 13 lakes, & a retail hub with small New England town character. There’s something here to enjoy all year round from shopping to events. In this immense interior region are innumerable streams, rivers, lakes and ponds in which to wet a line, water ski, canoe or kayak. Silver Lake right up the street has a public boat landing. Mattanawcook Pond, Folsom Pond, Stump Pond, Long Pond & Little Narrows as does the Penobscot River all have public boat landings as well, and are all conveniently located nearby in Lincoln.

1 hour south off interstate I95 is a perfect rainy day excursion.

Home of Bangor Mall with over 80 stores, including Macy’s, JC Penny & Dicks Sporting Goods plus the Bangor Mall cinemas 10 make this a perfect rainy day destination.

Mt. Jefferson Ski Resort

Just around the corner on Route 6

Mt. Jefferson ski area in Lee offers fun for the entire family. It is a small, family owned & operated ski area with a 432′ vertical drop, 11 trails, a half pipe, beginners slope with 600′ handle tow, & two 2000′ T-Bars. Ski lessons & rentals are available on-site. Mt. Jefferson prides itself on its cozy snack bar with homemade treats for the whole family. This Ski area is dependent on mother nature to bring the snow, so please call ahead if planning skiing during your visit.
